Technology has proved to be the greatest invention of mankind. Technologies have helped us through many difficult times and now that technologies are skyrocketing, people have started using more and more of it for the purpose of sheer entertainment. Let’s be honest, every single one of us owns or has owned a piece of tech that is used entirely for the purpose of entertainment. With every developing tech, people seem to want more. To satisfy the people’s hunger for fancier, cooler and more useful technologies, LG came up with a futuristic sound system and it still seems to amaze people till date. The LG SH4 is a soundbar that LG announced back in 2018, but is it any good in 2020?
I personally have never owned this piece of tech but one of my friends purchased it a while back and he still seems to love it. I myself have seen the LG SH4 in action and was pretty impressed by what it had to offer. The soundbar comes with a wireless subwoofer and that seems to attract a lot of attention. The soundbar has a sleek brushed aluminum finish and the subwoofer has a carbon fiber finish to it (not real carbon fiber). The packaging is pretty straight forward.
- Sleek and futuristic design
- Rugged and durable build and finish
- Easy to pair and use
- Can be connected to multiple devices
- Features optical, HDMI as well as wireless connections
- Includes remote control and a fresh set of batteries
- Compatible with any TV set, DVD or gaming consoles
If you are looking for a good sound system for a weekend of binge watching movies or series then the LG SH4 just might be the pick for you. The pricing for this particular rig is reasonable since it has seen a major drop in its price in recent days. The bass is very rich with reasonable lows and mids. It can also be a good addition to your entertainment system in your man cave. The LG SH4 can be placed on top of a table underneath your TV or it comes along with grooves which help you to hand it on the wall. Either way, you will be able to get an immersive experience with the sound bar.
All the ports that are required are discretely placed on the back of the sound bar, so the cable management can be clean and free of clutters. This is one of the features that I wish many other manufacturers would implement in their products. Subtle features like this help the consumers to have a wholesome product experience. Other than its functionality, its looks might also be one of its bestselling features. With its subtle sleek and futuristic design, it is sure to make your entertainment system more attractive and sophisticated.
The LG SH4 had a starting price of over 250$ when it was first launched in 2018. Since the field of technology is moving at a rapid pace, it has since experienced a drop in price. 250$ for a sound bar may seem reasonable for some and too expensive for others but you might be able to snatch a deal under 200$. It does however have some downfalls of its own. At max volume, the sound sometimes sounds a little mushy but let’s be honest no one is going to use a sound bar at its max volume inside a room. It might not be the most ideal setup for gaming either. Headphones still would be better for that purpose. The sound from the LG SH4 does however seem better than its rivaling products for the price it is available at.
You get some user manuals, the sound bar, the subwoofer, and a couple of power cables. The remote is a little smaller compared to regular TV remote controls, but once you pair it with you TV, you won’t be needing the remote anyway. They include the batteries for the remote in the package as well so that’s a thumbs up to LG. LG has mainly targeted people with LG TV’s to buy this soundsystem because as with any product, it has a smoother sync with its own kind. The subwoofers connects to the sound barwirelessly through the help of Bluetooth. This piece of tech can turn any normal room into a movie theatre in seconds.
FOR WHOM LG SH4 IS BEST, AND WHY?
The LG SH4 can satisfy anyone looking for a good sounding speaker. The immersive sound makes watching movies must more enjoyable and the settings available to change the sound settings will help anyone choose the exact type of sound preference they want. The most ideal setting for this setup would definitely be for a small indoor theatre experience. This could go equally good with a desktop setup as well. I can safely say that no one will be sad with the LG SH4. With an easy to use user interface and good quality sound, this could potentially be a good addition to your dorm room as well.
SHOULD YOU BUY LG SH4?
It’s a thumbs up from me. I think this will be the best buy ever. Unlike any other soundbar, this does have a slight drawback but that doesn’t stop LG SH4 to be one of the best soundbars.
So, is it something you should consider buying? Well, that is entirely up to you. For a price tag of about 150$ -200$ this product might be you just might feel that you have hit a jackpot. There are a lot of alternatives to this product but most soundbars have a really expensive price tag and if the price is low, the quality is just not up to the standards. Other companies such as Sony and JBL provide excellent soundbars as well but the price might seem a little high compared to the LG SH4.In short, I have no problem recommending the LG SH4 to others.
